My interest in International Education began while I was an undergraduate at the University of Michigan (U of M). During my freshman year I stumbled upon a program in the university's International Center (IC) that prepared students to go abroad the following summer. Growing up my whole life in Okemos, Michigan, I was intrigued by the idea of traveling to a different country.

After participating in a program in Managua, Nicaragua that summer, I stayed in contact with the IC. They helped to connect me with an internship in Spain the following summer and when I returned, I began my role as an Education Abroad peer advisor my junior year.

Upon graduating, I taught English in Chile and have since spent time working with non-profits focused on refugees, specifically with English language learning for middle and high school students. Additionally, I have led inbound and outbound high school exchange programs.

All of these experiences have solidified my belief in the power of intercultural exchange to create positive change, especially among youth.

As a current Master's in International Education Management candidate at the Middlebury Institute of International Education, I am excited to develop my skills in the design and assessment of effective international education programs, in promoting diversity and inclusion on school campuses and in building intercultural communities.
